Arthur's day in court.

Meg Mortimer and David Hunter come into conflict over Adam Chance's business practices. Arthur Brownlow consents to a trial when he's accused of indecently assaulting Iris.

After his acquisition, Adam Chance persuades Sharon Metcalfe to run the motel's garage. The Brownlow family get embroiled with Iris's pregnancy. Meg Mortimer decides that motel life is no longer for her and concedes defeat to David Hunter leaving a note in reception for Jill. Bonfire night starts with a bang, leaving Jill to exclaim "The motel is on fire, mum!"....

The morning after the motel fire and the search for Meg continues. Barbara changes her mind about leaving David Hunter.

A disconsolate Jill receives the phone call she's been longing for, leading her to Southampton and the QE2 for an important reunion. The police suspect Adam Chance of involvement with the motel's fire.
