Jase and Simon are back… and Jesse too, and this time they’re taking on K’gari (Fraser Island), the world’s largest sand island! They’re not just sightseeing though, they’ve got a mission: to explore the island’s rugged beauty and diverse wildlife while putting their gear to the test.
Getting their first taste of sand driving for the season, Jesse takes the lead, scouting a safe path along the beach. They’re leapfrogging sections of the beach, a delicate dance with the waves as they try to avoid getting swamped. But the tide is relentless, and the sun’s sinking fast. Time for a crucial decision: risk pushing forward or heed the advice of the locals?
Jase and Simon fill up their long-range tanks in Chillagoe, ready to hit the road and explore the goldfields. Their adventure begins with a splash as they cross a flooded causeway.

Jase and Simon fill up their long-range tanks in Chillagoe, ready to hit the road and explore the goldfields. Their adventure begins with a splash as they cross a flooded causeway. They’ve got a massive trek ahead of them, crossing from east to west. There’s no way they will knock that over in one day.
The next morning, they head out to meet the Fish Whisperer, and their journey is no disappointment as the wetlands are filled with birds and wildflowers. They meet up with brothers Scotty and Stoney in Kowanyama, the place of many waters. Will the Fish Whisperer live up to his name and help Simon and Jesse catch some meteries? Stoney assures Simon that he was catching big barra just a few weeks ago.

Jase, Simon and Jesse are heading back east into the gold country. Their journey begins at Palmerville Station, out near historic Maytown, in the Palmerville River region. They are warmly welcomed by Kerrie and Frog, the caretakers of this historical haven, who share their knowledge of the huts and the tin mining on the property.
With a bit of daylight left, the team ventures out to explore the remnants of the old mine, marvelling at the rusted gear and intriguing core samples. Having just hopped out of their ATV, it is a thought-provoking experience to consider the journeys of those who came in the 1870s, who traversed from Cooktown on foot with wheelbarrows and picks. It’s a stark contrast to the modern machinery of today!
