Zambia Untamed

In the Luangwa Valley lies a grove of Ebony trees, home to a troop of baboons. But, there are dangers here – the resident leopard who, unlike the other predators, is powerful and agile enough to climb trees. He’s not an easy foe to elude.

The plains and woodlands of the Luangwa Valley are the wildest and most merciless of all neighbourhoods where duels between predator and prey are played out both day and night. For the animals that call this home, it’s a daily battle to stay alive.

As the dry season begins, thousands of animals are making their way to the Acacia Loop. Each must establish their place in the pecking order and avoid the dangerous residents who are all too willing to make a meal of the unwary.

Mvula is the youngest calf in the Madzi family. Temperatures are soaring. Lagoons and waterholes are drying up. This forces Mvula and his family to undertake a long and dangerous journey to the only remaining source of water: the Luangwa River.
