Ultra Trail World Tour

The season starts with the Vibram Hong Kong 100 (100 km and 4500 D+) and the Tarawera Ultramarathon (100 km and 2610 D+) in New Zealand. Trail running has become very popular in China and more than 1900 athletes are participating in the first race of the season on a very difficult course. New Zealand and its Maori Culture greets the second race of the season in gorgeous scenery on a very rapid course.

Second Episode of our series dedicated to the 2020 Edition of the Ultra Trail World Tour. We follow the Transgrancanaria (128 km / 7500mD+) crossing the gorgeous volcanic island from North to South and the Golden Ring Ultra Trail (108 km / 1000mD+) in the beautiful Russian region of Suzdal where massive precautions had to be taken because of the Covid crisis.

UTMB® for the Planet, the digital and unifying initiative launched after the cancellation of the UTMB® Mont-Blanc, has come to a close. From July 20 to August 30, UTMB® for the Planet provided the global community of trail runners with an innovative way to interact remotely and to take on new challenges in the absence of an event. The initiative, which was supported by WWF France, has seen 17,385 runners from 106 countries participating in one of the 4 Virtual Races and a dozen Partner Challenges. You will also see Pau Cappell trying to run the 170 km of the actual UTMB in less than 20 hours.

The first race is the scenic Ultra Trail Harricana (122 km - 4220m D +) in the Charlevoix reserve 100 km northeast of Quebec, Canada. We then run the Javelina Jundred (160 km - 2400m D +) in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona - USA. To round everything off, we have a summary of the extraordinary UTWT 2020 season.
