Ozzie feigns an illness just to get out of bringing Harriet to the emporium. But Thorny convinces him that they should go bowling since they are giving away a case of Ginger Ale for the high scorer. Just after finishing up, Thorny spots Harriet at the alleys, as the boys make a quick exit. Their secret would be safe except for the case of pop which shows up to their home the next day. Ozzie confesses the story to everyone, including Harriet, who doesn't have the heart to admit she bowled a few games too and the high score may be hers.

But when the florist sees Ozzie's clothes and he has to scrap up enough change for the cheap violets, he decides to do a good deed and send the more expensive orchids in it's place.
