Brand new talent competition in which theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber searches for a new star to play the lead in a nationwide arena tour of his classic rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Andrew sets off on an audition tour to meet the hopefuls, with the top 100 facing the panel of West End casting director David Grindrod, Melanie C, Jason Donovan and Andrew himself.

The search for a star continues, and the competition hots up for the final 40. Andrew Lloyd Webber has invited all the contestants to Superstar Island for an intensive week of training which will separate the leaders from the disciples. With singing, dancing and acting challenges, only a few will get through to the next stage. Along with Mel C and Jason Donovan, Andrew has his work cut out to find those with true superstar potential.
