When Bone Shaker is challenged by Skelesaurus in the Champion's Cup, the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks receive a power-up after discovering the Power Crystal. They must work together to defeat the mighty Skelesaurus and his army of stone trucks!

The rivalry between Tiger Shark and Mega Wrex turns from a personal feud into an all-island rivalry with the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks splitting up into Team Shark vs. Team Dino. Each team recruits exciting new members, including the sea-smart shark - Great Bite - and the reclusive dino champ, Rage-a-saur. When the stakes rise, the trucks must decide which comes first: winning the championship or their friendships with one another.
