The end of the division of Germany requires steps towards the national unity of the Germans and towards internal unity. With German unity, Germany’s responsibility in the world also grows. After the turn of the century, Germany called for more commitment to overcoming international crises. Ironically, a red-green coalition accepts the Bundeswehr's first military operation to enforce human rights in Kosovo. At the national level, the main concern is to control unemployment. At first there was still a gap between the old and the new federal state; it took more than two decades for the walls to gradually disappear in our heads.
