In southeastern Europe lies a country largely untouched by tourism, shaped by snow-capped mountain peaks and crystal-clear waters: Albania. In the extensive network of bunkers — a “legacy” from the communist era — rare species of bats have found a new habitat.
Elsewhere, the last completely unregulated rivers in Europe still flow freely — a playground for all creatures that thrive near water: pelicans, lizards, snakes, butterflies, and sometimes even bears, as well as the last remaining Balkan lynxes.
