The good news is that the pitch is highly anticipated by the studio. The catch is that no one in the focus group likes the characters or the story.

The production crew finally makes a movie about punk rock.

Sam meets the focus group; they begin to make typical objections to his film.

Dutchmiller and Catherine inform Sam that the focus group still is unhappy with the latest version of his film, a cowboy western called The Old Wagon.

Sam finally takes a stand and argues that the focus group is unqualified to judge his movies.
