Burke feels the full force of Fletcher's managerial power when he is sacked. The rest of the workforce have mixed feelings on what to do, but Rex and Carol decide to down tools in protest - after all Fletcher is no match for them ..!?

Rex is going to a work's conference and Susan is suspicious when she sees the contents of his suitcase. But Rex is an amateur when it comes to playing away but the company he is about to keep is not. After arranging a party in his hotel room with Harry and Burke, he is surprised by the first "guest" ...

Reggie Parsons is about to visit the district in his role as sales director of a large firm. Rex is worried as Reggie used to be the most popular person at his school and his wife, Susan, was one of his admirers. Rex decides to embellish his own credentials and invite Reggie to his new 'home'.

It's every man for himself when the job of Head Cashier becomes vacant. Susan suggests to Rex that he should invite Mr Fletcher for dinner, but he has the problem of arranging it without the others finding out.

There's an audit in progress at the office and Rex is worried - Hawke, the auditor, has discovered a month's supply of crisps has gone missing from the canteen. Could they be the same crisps that he got from Harry?!

Carol is worried that she will be accused of indiscretions with Mr Fletcher and so she makes a play for Rex to cover her tracks. Rex thinks she is serious and the rumours reach Susan - she disguises herself in order to visit the office to try and catch her husband at it. Unfortunately for all, so does Jim - Carol's boyfriend!

It's not a surprise for the team to see Mr Fletcher go out for lunch with the chairman, but this time he arrives back with equal levels of pomposity and drink ...
