The Last Frontier: Shipwrecks: Graveyards of the Deep

As the ecavation of the wreck site continues, sharks begin to harass the divers with one eventually attacking Stoneman as he returns to the Foundation's vessel. More gold and silver is found as a hurricane warning forces the team out of the area, but now before they add a beautiful solid gold crucifix set with rubies to their extensive treasure trove. Stoneman vows to come back to the wreck site one day to finish the hunt for the silver thought to have been aboard the vessel.

The Foundation divers travel to British Columbia to look at what is known by seafaring men as the graveyard of the Pacific. Special attention is also drawn to the often-exotic marine life found in these icy waters.

John Stoneman and the Foundation for Ocean Research dive into the sub-freezing waters off the easternmost coast of Canada where they survey the growth of marine life on vessels shipwrecked by Nazi U-Boats during World War II.

This episode looks at artificial reefs in the form of a number of specially sunk shipwrecks along the Florida coastline. These vessels now serve as a means to attract marine life for the benefit of sport and commercial fishermen and the ever-increasing numbers of scuba divers. The members of the Foundation for Ocean Research visits some of these shipwrecks and examine the success of the program, which is generating worldwide attention. They even make a contribution of their own, a derelict 130' steam yacht.
