The Bronx is Burning

Billy Martin begins his attempt at guiding the Yankees back to the World Series after a humiliating defeat in 1976. However, it won't be easy, as Billy is soon at war with "The Boss" and his new flamboyant superstar Reggie Jackson. Meanwhile, the city of New York begins to deal with the reality of its first serial killer in over 40 years.

Billy and George have a meeting to try and smooth things over before the beginning of the 1977 season. Mayor Abraham D. Beame sets up his new Omega task force to try and catch the Son of Sam serial killer. Reggie continues to alienate himself from his teammates.

The clash of egos between Billy Martin, Reggie Jackson and George Steinbrenner begin to take its toll on the Yankee team. George is considering firing Billy (again) and the "Son of Sam" killer continues his rampage.

The Yankees fall into third place in their push towards the American League Pennant. A blackout cripples New York City as the anniversary of the first killing by the “Son of Sam” nears.

Billy gives in to George's demands and bats Reggie fourth in the batting order. The New York City Police Department continue their fight to find the "Son of Sam" killer.

The Yankees prepare for the playoffs after winning the American League East. Meanwhile, the New York City Mayoral Race is finally decided.

The Yankees and Dodgers meet in the 1977 World Series. It marks the ninth time that the two teams have played for the MLB World Championship.

The 1977 World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers comes to a conclusion. Reggie lets it be known that he will not return to the Yankees next season if Billy remains as the manager of the team.
