Tom is concerned about the child that ran away. Victor, Sally and Mrs Mack go to the bank to make an offer on the hotel. Ewan walks in on Sarah and Tony hugging, and gets the wrong idea. The boy is still staying on the farm.

Tom finds the boy's bedroom hidden away, and calls the police in to find him. Victor tells Sally they were outbid for the hotel, and she is furious. The boy returns to the farm, and he lets Tom cook him a meal.

George has been taken into care. The new owner of the hotel has sent in new workers to give it a once over, and it turns out that Nigel bought the hotel. Isobel receives a letter from Susan telling her they are all moving to Africa.

Eddie hands his notice in at the Big House, as he wants to leave for a while. Victor, Sally and Mrs Mack walk out of the hotel in protest to Nigel. Isobel is still considering moving to Africa, and Mairi is very upset at the prospect.

Isobel is leaving tomorrow, and Mairi is getting upset about it. Nigel is hoping for Sally and Victor to reconsider his offer of work. Isobel is sad to be leaving Glendarroch, but hopeful about her future. Eddie leaves too.

Mairi is a lot more stricter running the shop, but Lachie is trying to tell her to be nicer to people. The social worker visits Tom and Morag, and tells Tom that his visits to George unsettles him. Tom suggests fostering George to Morag.

Tom and Morag enter the fostering process, but Morag reminds Tom that they might bring up the past. Nigel is worried about a man coming to visit the hotel. Chick is looking after a car at the garage, but is using it for weddings to make money.

Everyone thinks that the Mafia is staying at the hotel and is connected to Nigel. Mr Spinetti offers Sally a job in London which she is tempted by. Tom asks Tony to back him up during the fostering process after the gun affair, and he agrees.

Mrs Mack is preparing to receive her good food award. Tony is still in a bad mood over what happened. Tom has to get a psychological evaluation before George can stay the night. The women of the village are excited about a soup competition.

Tom gives his guns to Davie to keep. Sheila invites Dr Clarke over for dinner, but he refuses when he realises it's a date. Dominic returns for a visit with his girlfriend, but Sheila isn't so sure about her. Tony and Sarah become closer.

Tom and Morag are anxious about George coming to stay overnight. Chick is panicking after a wedding guest kicked the light in on the vintage car. Everyone is curious about what happened between Tony and Sarah.

Tom and Lachie take George out fishing. Zoe is bored in Glendarroch with Dominic. Tony is nervous about starting a relationship with Sarah, but she tells him there is no rush. Everyone is feeling competitive about the soup competition.

Effie is intent on getting Sarah and Tony together. Effie is convinced that Mrs Mack is trying to enter a soup recipe through someone else, but she is removed as judge after the allegations. Paul thinks Zoe likes him.

Chick goes on a date with someone from a dating agency. Sarah invites Tony over for a romantic meal. The police are looking out for bird thieves. Paul winds up Tony, and accuses him of being jealous, so he doesn't go to Sarah's.
