Four dermatologists treat patients for skin conditions such as cysts, lipomas and skin tags that are viewed as cosmetic, but which can seriously affect the sufferers.

The dermatologists at the skin clinic squeeze, cut and sew their way through the patient list. In treatment room 1, Doctor Shah prepares for Steph. She has had cysts on her head for 20 years, which has made her self-esteem suffer. Since the bumps are now quite large, every visit to the hairdresser is torture for them. Next patient is Glenn, who wants to get rid of a cyst and a skin tag on his back. He'd already tampered with it himself with an insecticide vacuum, but only made things worse. Now his cyst has burst while on vacation and has become severely inflamed.

In the waiting room today: Georgia, who has cysts on her face and body. Glenys suffering from a large lump under her arm. And Chris, who has had a large lump on his neck for many years.

Dr Spearings is first at the clinic today to treat Shane. The 36-year-old has an inflamed lump on her jaw and a painful lipoma on her buttocks, which is not covered by health insurance. The bump on her face is a big handicap for Shane: she's reluctant to leave the house to avoid being stared at. The next patient is Lorraine, who is also hoping for a quick solution to her problem: she has cysts on her head, one of them the size of a golf ball, and hasn't dared to go to the hairdresser for years. Patient number 3, a student nurse, has large moles on her face and body.

Samanta is the first in the waiting room today and is hoping that Dr. Nelson can remove her cyst on her head as soon as possible. The mother of the family has had the tumor for seven years and is increasingly suffering from it. She's now the size of a golf ball and can hardly be hidden under her hair. Dulcie has been growing a large lipoma on her neck for over a decade, and it immediately catches the eye. Accordingly, she is often asked about it, which gnaws at Dulcie's self-esteem. dr Natalia examines the unsightly growth and wonders how her patient could put up with it for so long.

The treatment marathon in the skin clinic starts today with Lucy. The 35-year-old has long had a lipoma on her forehead, which she always hides under hats. But now she is supposed to be her best friend's bridesmaid and wants to get rid of the bump. dr Spearings explains to Lucy that a scar will remain - but that's not the problem: the patient has a pronounced needle phobia. However, the operation cannot be performed without anesthesia.
