In Merseyside, the duo explores a beach full of building rubble from WWII, learn the tale of Liverpool locals who plundered a wrecked boat of its booze, and find evidence of people and animals dating back 7,000 years.

Along the Essex estuary, the archaeologists pay their respects to Thames sailing barges sunk in the mud, examine the earthwork remains of a fort from Henry VIII's time, and find a WWI German U-boat stranded in a tiny creek.
