Thanks to him Normandy became one of the most powerful principalities of the kingdom of France. Rollo the Walker is one of the most terrible Viking warriors in history and his adventure began 1200 years ago at the mouth of the Seine.

At the head of Normandy the descendants of Rollo built one of the most powerful and best-organized duchies in Europe. But in 1035 the crown was inherited by an 8-year-old bastard child William the Conqueror.

In the 12th century Normandy was at its peak. Thanks to the efforts of the legendary Norman duke Richard the Lionheart it controlled almost half of the Frankish kingdom and England. They invaded Ireland raided Sicily and Spain; nothing was out of the Normans’ reach.
