MARSOF: Special Forces of The Netherlands

At the end of 2018, the Netherlands narrowly escapes a terrorist attack. Four Muslim extremists are planning to strike with Kalashnikovs and bomb vests during the Gay Pride in Amsterdam. In a holiday cottage in Weert, the terror suspects have an appointment with a weapons supplier. What they don't know is that these are undercover agents. The counterterrorism unit of MARSOF, the M-Squadron, is ready to overpower the terrorists.

During the Dutch military mission in the Afghan province of Uruzgan, international troops are plagued by rocket attacks from the Taliban. The C-Squadron of MARSOF takes action and infiltrates into enemy territory. The special forces operate under the most extreme conditions and come face to face with the enemy. When their mission is extended and there isn’t a single drop of water left, the unit faces an impossible choice: give up or carry on.

On March 18, 2019, the largest terrorist attack on Dutch soil takes place in Utrecht. The radicalized Muslim Gökmen T. boards a tram with a pistol and unleashes death and destruction: four passengers are killed and six people are injured. The shooter flees, triggering a massive manhunt. Heavily armed Quick Response Teams from across the country are deployed, including units from MARSOF.

The Dutch military mission in Afghanistan is in full swing. After an offensive by international coalition forces, the Taliban have retreated to the west of the Helmand River. There, the fighters have free rein and oppress the local population. The C-Squadron of MARSOF devises a daring plan to cross the river at night and attack the Taliban from behind. But things do not go as planned.

In the Gulf of Aden, international shipping is plagued by Somali pirates who hijack ships and demand millions of dollars in ransom. After several firefights with the pirates, MARSOF changes tactics. During a secret mission, two frogmen approach a hijacked fishing vessel and manage to sabotage the rudder using homemade explosives. Their actions earn them an award for bravery that had not been bestowed since 1940.
