The Red Spy

Crimea, Sevastopol, October 1920. During a church holiday, an attempt on the life of Baron Wrangel takes place. The baron remains alive, and one of the attackers is captured by the head of counterintelligence Gaev. The incident is witnessed by El Ferrari, a red spy working under the legend of the Italian poet, and Max Ermler, a German recruited by British intelligence. Both Ferrari and Ermler are hunting for the coordinates of the Wrangel submarine sites, which the Bolsheviks want to seize and the British want to destroy. A passion flares up between the agents, which greatly interferes with the case. Things get even more complicated when Ferrari is tasked with winning the trust of the baron's family and killing Wrangel ...

Together with the head of the Crimean underground Ignatiy Kovrov, El Ferrari is developing a plan to assassinate Wrangel. She tries to get close to the baron through his adjutant Spesivtsev, who invites her on a horse ride. During the trip, the adjutant receives a personal order from Wrangel - to unload the treasury from armored cars and transport it from Simferopol to Sevastopol.

El receives permission from Gaev to visit Wrangel's house during his son's birthday celebration. Yasha must ensure her safe escape after the murder. On the day of the celebration, El is subjected to a humiliating body search procedure. But the revolver is hidden in the park of Yasha, who is waiting with his comrades on the launch from the side of the sea. El meets the Baron. She is shocked by the scale of his personality and cannot fire the fatal shot ...

El threatens to be shot for disrupting two operations, she urgently needs to correct all the mistakes. The Reds are preparing an Intercept plan based on the coordinates of the submarine stations. But it turns out that the parking lots are not the same, and the boats were blown up right in front of them. El wants to lure Max into a trap to intercept the encryption, but ends up under house arrest. Max rushes to the pier, where his squad is already fighting the Reds, and tries to break through to the boats. Dynamite explodes, Yasha is thrown to the pier, and Max is thrown into the sea ...

A reception in honor of the British Consul is being prepared on board Wrangel's yacht. Gaev continues to dig under the Ferrari. El gets on deck, lures Max into the cabin, and her mate disarms him. Seizing the moment, El adds poison to Wrangel's glass. But from the capital comes an urgent radiogram from Menzhinsky: hand over the gold to the white, cancel the attempt on Wrangel ...

Kanevsky steals dirt on Ferrari from Max and sells it to Gaev. Max learns about the deal and tries to buy out the spy, but Gaev is adamant. Yasha, without waiting for orders from above, organizes an operation to rescue El, but she has already been transferred to another location. During the transportation, El tries to escape. Max's voice brings her to her senses ...

Wrangel receives reports from the front about the colossal losses of the Whites. He orders the retreat to begin. The squadron, heading for Constantinople, is ready to take on board everyone. Max makes new papers for El and gets her on board one of the ships. Ferraris are watched by both white and red. The wounds on El's back are severely inflamed, and Max goes to get medicine. On the way back, he stumbles upon Gaev and kills him. When he returns, he does not find El in the cabin. The ship is leaving ...

El returns to the Reds because she cannot betray Uritsky and Yasha, who ended up in prison because of her. On a new mission - to seize Wrangel's gold in Turkey - El takes Kovrov and Yasha with him. Trying to forget Max, El spends the night with Yasha. Anyone who could reveal a Ferrari is dead. Except for Max Ermler. A new business awaits him in Constantinople. He already knows El is here too. One day they meet in a restaurant ...

Ermler sums up the operation with El, thanks to which he got the Wrangel archives, and Ferrari - the gold. Max refuses to forgive her for escaping the ship, and they part forever. He goes on another assignment, this time with Judy.

El is transferred to Berlin, where she sees Uritsky and is ordered to get the blueprints for the newest submarine. Yasha accuses El of stealing his life. Ermler is warned that Soviet agents are hunting for the blueprints he needs, and they are advised to figure out and get rid of "competitors." Soon, Otto, who managed to see Ferrari, is arrested and began to be interrogated harshly. El receives the order to hide, but asks to give her a few days ...
