Unaware that his wife was still having an extramarital affair with Enrique, Roberto spoke to her alone. Assuring her that he feared for his safety and that of his daughter, he asked her to stay away from the candidate. Just one step away from discovering that Karina and Enrique were lovers, Roberto had a heated argument with the candidate. The inspector offered him a deal in exchange for his son telling the truth about the incident he was involved in, but this only triggered the politician's fury, who ended up giving him a warning. To erase all traces of his crime, Memo burns the clothes he and Adrián were wearing the night they ran over Tobías and Daniel. Upon discovering this, Mariana joins forces with her son to cover up the crime.
