Fajr International Film Festival

The first Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1361. The time of the 1st festival was at the same time as the Iran-Iraq war and the atmosphere after the 1957 revolution. A look at the names of the films in the amateur section tells the mood of the festival. This course only included the amateur cinema competition, and the professional cinema section was held non-competitively. Haji Washington, The Red Line, The Death of Yazdgerd, Ghosts and Safir were among the films of this year.

The second Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1362. There were no foreign films in this year. Iranian cinema competition was held in two professional and amateur sections and the winners were honored. The jury did not recommend any work worthy of the best film award. The distinctive feature of this period is the presence of the first talents of the cinema after the 1957 revolution, such as Mohsen Makhmalbaf, Rasul Sadr Aamili, Mohammad Ali Sajjadi, Mohammad Reza Elami, Hassan Hedayat, and Khosrow Sinaii, along with three more well-known names such as Alireza Davoudenjad, Reza Mirlohi, and Masoud Asadolahi. In this festival, no works of professional filmmakers before the revolution were presented.

The third Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran's Vahdat Hall in February 1363.

The fourth Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1364.

The fifth Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1365

The sixth Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1366

The seventh Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1367

The eighth Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1368

The 9th Fajr Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1369

The 10th Fajr International Film Festival was held in Tehran in February 1370
