In trying to explain the beginning of the universe, researchers are reaching the limits of physics as we know it and entering the world of quantum theory. Quantum theory is the theoretical basis that explains the nature and behavior of energy and matter at the subatomic level. It could be the answer to the very strange conditions under which our universe came into being - seemingly from nothing.
