We humans are familiar with the world we can see, from huge mountains to tiny specks of dust. But beyond this scale, things go much further - on a large and small scale. For a long time, we thought atoms were the smallest unit of things, but then research discovered even smaller particles. Many researchers now assume that the infinitely small exists just as much as the infinitely large. Over the last century, researchers have built increasingly powerful telescopes and microscopes to look into previously unseen worlds. We can now observe many things, from the smallest bacteria to huge galaxies.
