Hunting Aotearoa

Howie has to safely negotiate the rugged alpine environment in the shadows of Aoraki. It is in this foreign wilderness that Howie discovers how beautiful but potentially dangerous hunting for Thar and Chamois are.

Howie is taken into the hills of Riwaka to hunt for some Motueka boars. Hunting has been a life long passion for Glen which he is passing on to his sons. Second in the show Howie meets a local legend from Blenheim Bob Page.

Howie heads back to Tree Tops to cull deer with Ian Hunt as part of the sustainable management of the Tree Tops estate.

Howie tags along as they hunt for deer in the Murchison area. In the second half Howie takes to the sky with a professional helicopter pilot Bruce Dando who has many years experience hunting with his helicopter.

There is an incredible amount of wild pigs to be seen tonight. The Show finishes off with local legend Baldy Haitana in which we learn about the Whanganui River and the locals relationship to it.

There are three generations of Veints starting with 93 year old Lloyd Veint in which we hear about some of his record breaking stags. We also follow Lloyd's mokopuna shooting wild goats on some of the sloping hills of Glenorchy.

Hunting Aotearoa takes a quick look at a few helicopter companies who specialize in hunting in the south island and then the show finishes with another local legend Brendon Potae.

James has spent a lifetime hunting professionally as well as recreationally and knows these hills well. Howie then joins helicopter pilot Jason Wright who takes him to Rakiura (Stewart Island) for a deer hunt.

Howie joins with hunting character Mark Byres for a pig hunt near Milton. Mark is not short of something to say and loves his pig hunting as much as anyone.

A night of women hunters. Howie returns to Salt Farm to hunt with Debbie McClean and her young son Jamie. Debbie is no slouch when it comes to hunting wild pigs and certainly leaves the men to follow in her wake.

An action packed evening with many memories and highlights that make for enjoyable viewing.
