Alona is a widowed struggling screenwriter with 3 kids, just shy of 50, and is slowly discovering that her 50s are in fact the teenage years of old age. Her teenaged kids look down on her, her demented father drives her crazy and she's tired of counting the time that has passed since she last had sex by the year.

Alona finds herself in a wild audit at the IRS. She also takes her father to a doctor's appointment, and leaves with a diagnosis, a prescription and a date with the doctor.

Alona's new medication have some serious side effects that push her to the edge. At a school board meeting she manages to get herself in charge of a project she regrets immediately.

Alona meets Shira's teacher and continues to stir up trouble at her school. She helps Tamar pick out an egg donor, and then had to pick an adopted grandma for herself. Cue hot flashes.

A house call from a vet costs Alona an arm and a leg, and a professional meeting leaves her with an impossible task. A terrifying vision of the future prompts her to finally accept a date offer from her father's doctor.

Alona goes on a romantic bike ride with her father's doctor, which turns out to be anything but romantic.

Alona gets bad news from her father's home, which are quickly confirmed when he doesn't show up at Carmel birthday party. Shira goes through a difficult withdrawal, when her mobile is taken away.

Things go from bad to worse for Alona when she attends a friend's 50th birthday party, and when she attends a crucial pitch meeting.
