In the Season 3 premiere, Kayla and Nettie are fighting again after months of reconciliation. Meanwhile, Kayla plans a birthday party with a belly-dancing theme; Mellie takes her baby to visit his dad; and a secret's revealed on the way to the racetrack.

Nettie confides in JoAnn about her fight with Mellie, who shares her side of the story with Kayla. Later, Mellie takes her baby to visit his father; and Kayla shares a secret on the way to the racetrack.

The women go to New Orleans to celebrate Mellie and Kayla's birthdays, which includes plenty of shopping and partying all night long.

A sightseeing tour of New Orleans includes haunted houses and a visit to a voodoo shop, but tempers flare when Mellie and Annie are ready to start drinking.

The New Orleans trip ends and the women head home, where Kayla confronts Richard about their failed marriage, and Mellie and Dallas throw a combined birthday party for their sons.

Kayla meets with Richard to discuss the status of their marriage after weeks of living apart. Later, Mellie, Nettie and JoAnn go canoeing with the kids for some fun in the sun.

Kayla shares exciting news with the family that she and Richard are engaged-again-so Nettie and the others start planning a party for Kayla, but some of them secretly worry that the happy couple won't last.

The women go to Ocean City, Md., for Kayla's bachelorette party, but their beach festivities are interrupted by a call from Richard that causes Kayla to have doubts about their future.
