On August 31st, Kokona goes on a stroll and comes across various places that she had previously been to with her mother, who has been too busy to take her somewhere during summer vacation. She soon comes across a lost child and helps her to find her mother, leading her to a medicinal herb garden which gives her more memories of her own mother. Later, on October 28, Hinata finds an acorn hairclip in Aoi's room. Remembering that she had made it for Aoi when she had to move house years ago, Hinata feels guilty when she can't find the gift Aoi had given her in return. Apologising to Aoi, the two of them decide to find more acorns to make new gifts for each other.
