Elbjazz Festival

Never short on jokes, the members of the Horst Hansen Trio celebrated last year the 60th anniversary of their formation, which is a trio in name only. But beyond their unique sense of humor and their colorful look, the Rhinelanders are excellent jazzmen.

The NDR Bigband play on home turf here at Elbjazz festival, marking their ongoing collaboration with Cuban pianist-composer Omar Sosa. 17 players in total demonstrate an uncommon versitility as they leap across a variety of styles underlined by the cosmopolitan compositions of Sosa's restless creative spirit.
