In 2012, Teddy Hart -- an eccentric, cat-breeding pro-wrestler living in Canada -- teams up with filmmaker Frederick Kroetsch to make a reality show; the show takes a dark turn when two women make disturbing allegations and Teddy leaves for the U.S.

Frederick sways Teddy to return to Canada, where he is arrested; after his arrest, Teddy meets aspiring wrestler Samantha Fiddler and takes her to Florida to train; Teddy returns to Canada for his hearing; Samantha's family questions her whereabouts.

With Samantha's family desperate for answers, Teddy sits down to answer Frederick's questions; as new information comes to light, Teddy's ex-student finds her voice.
