The city of Adelaide has seen many of the country’s most horrific murders. This series looks back on the cases that have shaped Adelaide’s notorious image.

In 1999, police were investigating multiple disappearances. What they discover would become the most horrific case in Australian crime. This case would be known as the “bodies in the barrels”.

In 1983, a young girl was snatched in the middle of the night from her own bed. The investigation into her disappearance would last over three decades, and tie the murderer to three cases that had shocked the city to its very core.

In 1979, boys began disappearing across Adelaide. They would be discovered dumped outside the city limits with wounds that would horrify investigators. The case would create a mythology of suspects that would shock the Nation.
