FAM!

In a family of Internet famous influencers, the only un-famous Sammi has always loathed the social media world and it’s need for frivolous self-gratification. With an aspiration to be like her hero, Olivia Dante, a fearless journalist, Sammi applies for an internship to work at Olivia’s news channel, OMG News. But when her application was rejected for a lack of working experience, Sammi contemplates if she should work part time at her own family’s social media company first to earn her relevant work experience.

Chef extraordinaire and everyone’s dream husband, Gorden, has always had a huge following of fans and he has always loved the attention. Hence, when he gets his very own stalker, sending him flowers and gifts, he’s thrilled. Sammi is tasked by Joy to find out more about who this stalker might be. After a few near misses, they finally discover the identity of the stalker but Gorden is in for a rude awakening. Meanwhile, having always been a prankster and not always taken very seriously, Jayden decides to take up a new profession that will boost his image and show him in a more serious light. He decides to become an actor.

Joy’s fitness empire has been built with her excellent workout tips that work and motivational support that could invigorate even the laziest bum. However, when a video of Joy assaulting someone goes viral, she’s labeled a bully and shunned by the online community. Now it’s up to Sammi to find out the truth behind the video and clear her mother’s name before all she had worked for so long begins to crumble. Meanwhile, Gorden is devastated when he gets a bad review from a food blogger who ate at his restaurant. Determined to prove him wrong, Gorden goes out to find the food blogger and cook him an incredible dish that will blow his mind.

After an accidental upload of a recording of his complains, Ah Gong suddenly experiences instant popularity and is now Singapore’s Number 1 Complain King. However with this new found fame, there also comes competition in the form of the younger, more popular Yummy Dee, who’s berating Ah Gong through response videos and garnering more views. This angers Ah Gong and (with the help of Jayden) he soon goes on an all-out social media war against Yummy Dee.

In wake of a coming Halloween month, Jayden decides to do a series of scare prank videos on the new office intern – his sister Sammi. Sammi is tired of being made a fool of and confronts Jayden in his room about it. Jayden understands her position and tells her he won’t post the videos if she’s not comfortable with it. After making amends, they leave the room. However, Jayden forgets that he had started recording a live stream when Sammi had entered his room and all his followers are watching it.

The Tan family are invited to a resort to enjoy its facilities and hopefully promote it through their social media channels. However, due to Ah Gong’s bad stomach and limited sitting spaces, the family had to be split in two and arrive on 2 separate boats. Things get worse when the boat ferrying Ah Gong and Sammi actually left them stranded on an alienated part of the island. Meanwhile, the rest of the family are experiencing a serious case of wi-fi shortage.

Sammi goes back to the school to discover that her secret is out and that everybody knows that she's part of the Internet famous Tan family. Sammi can't seem to deal with all the attention and thinks her life is over. However, her hero, Olivia, finds about her popularity and invites the Tan family to join a charity event which puts her over the moon. While there, she spends time with her crush Peter, much to the annoyance of Malcolm.

Sammi’s hero, Olivia, is impressed with her performance at the event and wants her to come work for her. Although Sammi is thrilled to learn that she’ll get to work(intern) with her hero, she quickly realizes that it would crush her parents if she chooses Olivia over them. Meanwhile, Joy is secretly jealous that her own daughter embraces Olivia so much as an idol and not her. She decides to invite Olivia over to her place for dinner and make every effort to show Sammi that she can in every way better than her idol.

Sammi is over the moon. She has just started her first day working at OMG office. However things seem to be getting off on a rough start when she suspects her coworkers are not really happy with her and she has to even pair up with a soft-spoken colleague for a presentation. Meanwhile, in an effort to help Sammi have a smooth transition into a new company, Malcom takes over Sammi’s duties at FAM and is now everyone’s intern.

Sammi and Peter are finally going out on their first date to celebrate her birthday and watch her favourite play, To Kill A Mockingbird. At the same time, Gorden is getting rather paranoid over this new boy that her daughter is seeing and even sends Malcom to do some online background search on him. Things get out of hand when Malcom discovers an old blog post that writes about Peter being inappropriate with her girls and it gets Gorden paranoid over his daughter’s safety.

With a dream job and the perfect boyfriend, Sammi couldn’t ask for anything more. So, when her idol, Olivia Dante, requests to do a feature on Singapore’s most famous influencer family, she doesn’t think much of it and agrees immediately. On a high, she gets her family to agree to it saying that it will only help their fan base grow and garner more views for their channels. Seeing Sammi so positive and supportive of their work, something she had never done before, the family decides to do the interview. When Olivia comes over to interview the family, everyone is more than happy to answer her questions. In between filming, Olivia chats with Sammi about her family and she’s pretty candid while talking about her family and doesn’t hide anything from her. A few days later, the family eagerly await to watch the interview on Olivia’s channel but are shocked to see that it wasn’t an interview but an exposé on the Tan Family torturing and exploiting their daughter, Sammi, all in the name of…

Things are pretty solemn in the Tan household. Everyone gives Sammi the cold shoulder and during the family breakfast, Joy reiterates to everyone that they will be closing their channel for good and will not be making any more videos. Joy decides that the four of them will continue to work at the cafe. When the Tan family begins to mess up a lot of things at the cafe, it’s apparent to see that adapting to a normal life is difficult for the Tan family after being influencers for a while. An enraged Sammi confronts Olivia about manipulating her words and betraying her trust but Olivia simply brushes it off saying in the online world it’s all about getting views and you need to do whatever it takes to achieve it. Sammi is ashamed of idolizing Olivia and is determined to make things right and she goes live on the family channel to tell the real truth behind the exposé on the Tan Family.
