Tuesday, October 11, 2005. Eric Boisseranc returns home to Chazay d´Azergues, a small village in Beaujolais, a little earlier than usual. It is 17.00. Marine, his twenty-year-old daughter, is already there. His car is parked in the driveway. As he enters, Eric sees lights in the half-light of the living room. Marine left the shutters closed, to be able to watch TV. She may not have heard her father come in. He calls him. No answer. Intrigued, Eric Boisseranc descends the four steps leading to the living room. A few paces from him, next to the fireplace, he sees a dark red puddle. He's still getting closer. And howls.

Spring, summer 1987. In the space of a few weeks, four little girls are kidnapped and killed in the Paris region. They are between 7 and 9 years old. Sabine Dumont is one of them. On Saturday June 27, 1987, around 5.30 p.m., little Sabine, 9, left the family apartment in Bièvres in Essonne to buy a tube of white gouache in order to finish a drawing. A family friend sees him on the way home. She was the last person to see her alive. After a night of searching, Sabine's body was found the next day in Vauhallan, along the national 118.

On March 23, 1998, in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille, Sylvain Alloard, 31, took his car at 7 am. In the inner courtyard of his residence, a man who works nearby calls out to him to tell him that his rear tire is flat. Sylvain gets out of his vehicle to get a jack in his trunk. As he bends down to start changing his wheel, a gray Renault 21 approaches him. One of the two occupants exits and fires two 22 long rifle bullets in the head. Sylvain Alloard died instantly. The killer and his accomplice flee at full speed.

On May 5, 1986, little Cécile Bloch, 11, was found dead in the basements of her residence in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. She was raped, stabbed and strangled. The Paris Criminal Brigade investigators in charge of the case quickly realized that the killer was not a beginner and that he might strike again. Despite a precise description of this man given by many witnesses - his face in particular was pockmarked - they were unable to stop him.
