Its GCSE results day for best friends Jay and Yemi. But while Yemi’s results open the doors to the college of his dreams, Jay’s results mean a potential future working for his dad. Determined not to become a ‘boiler man’ Jay turns his focus to a local music talent competition called Mic Star. He believes this is the answer for his future. If only he can convince Yemi likewise.
On enrolment day for Chairwood, Yemi meets current student Davina, who has an interesting take on Mic Star, and could change Yemi’s mind.
