The Shed

In the first episode of the new reality series, we meet the Orrison clan. They own The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint stationed in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

When Mama Shed's misfired marketing idea leads to an unplanned ribs giveaway, Brad decides he can do a better job. Brooke disagrees, and challenges Brad and Daddy-O to a guys versus girls Shed marketing contest! The girls struggle to create a Shed calendar (which puts Hazel in a very sticky situation), while the guys invent the one and only "Pig-a-Pult" to launch sandwiches into the sky. Not to be outdone, the Shed Pimps come up with their own marketing scheme ... which, conveniently for them, revolves around setting up a kissing booth they promote on social media.

The wild summer rush is in full swing at Mississippi's hottest barbecue restaurant, so it's up to Brad, Brooke and Mama Shed to hire new help — and fast. The job interviews are as unique as The Shed itself, including on-stage auditions, a trip to the legendary Shed "junkyard" and a visit with the one and only Shed Pimps. Meanwhile, a hungry alligator has crept out of the bayou and into the Shed Garden farm, so it's up to Daddy-O, Big Hoss and Coal Miner to lure the critter away from their tomatoes.

It's adventure on the high seas ... or at least in the Gulf ... when Brooke books a catering job aboard a fishing boat for friends visiting from New Zealand. Brad, however, has other business ideas, and uses the downtime on the cruise to set up a Shed pulled pork sandwich concession with Hobson, right there on the beach. While Brooke and crew catch fish (and have a close encounter with a shark), Brad races back and forth to The Shed on his speed boat when he runs out of sandwiches to sell. Back on land, Big Hoss is recruited by his daughter's summer day camp to give a demonstration on barbecue, and the gentle giant in turn recruits Hazel to come and help him out.

Brad seeks to expand the enterprises of The Shed, so he takes a job creating a custom barbecue smoker — out of a real Checker cab, no less — for the owner of an Atlanta taxi company. Complicating matters is Coal Miner, who has decided to take a vacation week ... but he has nowhere to go, so he hangs around The Shed in his customized "vacation chair." Meanwhile, Mama Shed and Brooke organize a safety week at The Shed. Even Big Hoss and the Shed Pimps get in on the act, and they all get educated in CPR, mouth-to-mouth and a firefighter demonstration, where Brad loses a battle with a fire hose.

Brad and The Shed crew hit the road, as they travel north to Virginia for the Smoke on the Mountain barbecue competition. But it's trouble right from the start, when problems with their hog during transit may force them to withdraw from the whole hog competition. While Brooke and the Shed team scramble to pick up a new hog, Mama discovers the plates for the judging portion are broken, so it's up to the Shed Pimps to scour the local antique stores for a replacement. It might be Daddy-O's secret recipe beef skewers to the rescue, as Brad, Hobson and Scotty struggle to overcome a mine field of obstacles and make the finals in whole hog.
