In 1969, Jaqueline Emery called Dr. Holzer out to investigate her home in Sykesville, Maryland, also known as the Howard Lodge, a Georgian mansion from the 1700s. She reported hearing a sick child breathing, seeing mists around the house, and feeling a presence on the second floor landing. Hans conducted his first investigation solo, but after a startling experience, he planned on returning with a medium to try and get to the bottom of the haunting. Unfortunately, when he tried to return, Jaqueline Emery changed her mind, deciding that she didn’t want him back at the house. She was happy with the haunting and felt no need for further investigation. Now, 50 years after Hans Holzer first encountered the spirits of Howard Lodge, his private case file is reopened, as paranormal investigator Dave Schrader, psychic medium Cindy Kaza, equipment specialist Shane Pittman — along with new insights from researcher Gabe Roth and Holzer’s own daughter, Alexandra — return to Sykesville to uncover the mysteries that Hans was prevented from solving. A new key to the mystery comes with the chilling discovery that multiple former residents of Howard Lodge have been haunted by non-stop dreams of the old house.
