Henning quickly regrets breaking up with his beloved Gai. Per is clinically dead for several minutes, but wakes up to a gigantic hospital bill. Priest Christa visits the Danish colony in northern Thailand, bringing an important message.

Benny cashed in his pension fund to pay for the renovation of two family homes in Thailand - neither of which he owns. He lives in an area where nobody speaks English, and his best friend, his dog Molly, just died. He is feeling the isolation in a foreign culture. Henning tries to win Gai back, but it's not going to be easy. Dentist Bent was preparing for a safe retirement in Denmark, but quickly got bored - now he has found love and adventure in Thailand.

The first residents have moved into Danish village Thani Beach. It's time for the grand opening, complete with Buddhist monks and karaoke. Henning misses Gai, and tries to hold the communication line open. Per has been to hospital again - the bill was smaller this time, but he still can't afford health insurance.

Henning has made a decision that may significantly shape his future. Kenn is planning to build a Danish nursing home in Thailand, where elderly Danes can spend their sunset years under the warm Eastern sun. Some of the men in the Danish colony organise a collection – for a very special purpose.
