Senior Constable Dean Pickering is called to a nasty crash where two kids have stolen a car, with their reckless driving leading them to wrap the car around a tree. The driver is trapped in the car and as paramedics frantically try to free the boy, Constable Dean tries to work out just what these kids have been doing. Then, a driver is stopped in Epping for driving an unregistered car and it turns out to be no easy intercept.

The police are desperately trying to apprehend a female drink driver. The speeding motorist just won't stop, and with pursuing police unable to stop her, they decide to throw down stop sticks which should puncture all the offenders' car tyres. It's a difficult and dangerous task on a dark, wet, and busy motorway.

An innocent member of the public is attacked by a man with a knife, while walking home from work. When the offender is he leads officers on a frantic foot chase through the streets of Maribyrnong.
