On July 9, 1988, the first episode of the OVA series, based on the opening story of the original work, "The Pihyoro Family Appears!", was released in theaters by Shochiku Cinema Salon. It was shown at the same time as the theatrical edited version of the OVA "Aim for the Ace!"
