Petr Pospíšil is a bus driver and chief of the local volunteer fire department. Unfortunately, he missed the fire brigade again. The village is already making fun of him, so he decides to resign. But because of the arrogant mayor Vladimír Urban, who refuses to reimburse the firefighters, he has to postpone it for the time being. First, the mayor must be forced to pay the invoice for extinguishing the field. Will he succeed? And is it possible that a pigeon caused the fire? Meanwhile, Peter's son is charmed by the mayor's daughter, whom he has met after many years. The new weekend cottager, the impractical Judge Jára, tries to inflate and fill the swimming pool under the supervision of his strict wife, Betka.

Petr discovers that there is someone among the firemen who is informing on the mayor and decides to find the informer. Grandfathers Venca and Hynek are still like little boys. First they give Petr a trick that will help him discover the traitor, and then they decide to have fun geocaching, i.e. looking for "caches" in the woods. But it's hard to do with a dead cell phone. So hard, in fact, that it's no problem to get lost and end up stuck in a swamp. Veterinarian Lenka makes another of her attempts to find a normal guy, but pedantic cyclist Marek is probably not the best choice. Petr and his wife Maria are in crisis and their relationship has long since lost its spark. The losers, Jara and Bětka, manage to fall in love in the basement. Will smoke signals help them get out?

Witch burning has always been held on the playground in Horní and was organized by the local volunteer firefighters. This year, however, the mayor decides to organize the festival next door in Újezd. Peter, of course, refuses, so the witches begin to prepare two competing parties, each in a different location. The Újezd bonfire will be in charge of Srníček the gamekeeper. He can think of nothing smarter than to feed the fire directly from the back of his truck, so the truck starts to burn. Will Peter finally make his first trip to a real fire? The mayor's wife, Bára, accepts the invitation of the mechanic Edy and takes part in the witches' festival in Horní. Martin, who is already dating Nina, has to go to Újezd against his will. And the grandfathers take an urn from the cemetery that accidentally ended up in the columbarium next to Hynek's late wife. What will the two of them do with it?

An insurance company refuses to pay for the injuries of one of the firefighters because the burns were caused by worn gloves. Seducer Eda, on his way to meet his new lover, the mayor's wife Bara, helps a beautiful TV reporter in trouble. He quickly takes advantage of his new acquaintance and invites her to do a story on how the insurance company is hurting the heroic and humble volunteer firefighters. The mayor discovers his wife's infidelity and wants to get even with Eda. He catches Eda in a sticky situation, but surprisingly not with Bara. The grandfathers get an observational telescope. But instead of unknown galaxies, they discover a new neighbor sunbathing nearby in a bathing suit. To please the attractive neighbour, they promise to reclaim her garden, which they never did. Not a drop of vinegar can be found in the entire village. All the bottles are bought by Mirek, who has fallen for another conspiracy theory...

The old tramp Ladr has died and the whole village mourns at the funeral. As they all disperse, they find a large oil slick in the parking lot. Similar spills have been appearing more and more frequently in the village lately. So the mayor commissions the fire brigade to destroy the spill and expose its source. The firefighters will create an action plan to catch the culprit and, exceptionally, will also team up with the mayor in doing so. Will they catch the culprit? Lada is cutting his teeth on the estate of the late Ladra. But while dismantling the garage, an unpleasant and terrifying surprise awaits him... Peter's wife, Marie, leaves him after all these years to be alone for a while. She has decided to resolve their long-standing and protracted crisis. Will it be permanent?

The time is approaching for the mayor's beloved autocross race, for which he has been training hard for a year. He's promised the organizers he'll provide firefighting supervision. Given his relationship with Fire Chief Petr, that's a problem. Will he be able to persuade the firemen without Petr finding out? And can Mirek's shamanic rituals help the mayor in the race? Peter has arranged a weekend job for his son Martin. But Nina needs Martin to help her with the autocross stall that day. Neither wants to back down, and their relationship is put to the test. Lenka has finally found a new relationship - Karl from the municipal office. But rumours are circulating around the village that Karel is suffering from addiction. But she has to find out for herself... The mayor tries his best to save his relationship with Bára and is even willing to go to yoga for her. There he meets Mirek and his new friend Monča.

The guys from the unit let Petr down in the autocross races so much that he can't trust them anymore. He resigns, shocking everyone. Only the mayor washed his hands. He's finally rid of his main adversary. He appoints Srnicek, the forester, to the vacant post of commander and gradually fires both Eda and Mirek. He'll fill the unit with loyal but totally incompetent men who spend more time in the pub than in the firehouse. When a stray bear turns up outside the office, disaster is imminent. How will Petr and his crew deal with this unpleasant situation? Grandpa Venca wants to develop his photographic talent. Instead of boring landscapes, he'd rather shoot nudes. But where to find a model? Hynek knows how to arrange it... The mayor discovers that Bára is still in a relationship with Eda. He desperately tries to get back at her and clumsily goes after Lenka. Will she be successful? Jara and Betka plan a barbecue, but thanks to Jara's clumsiness, the relaxed afternoon goes a bit awry...

As every year, the whole village looks forward to the Firemen's Ball. The band Žhavý jiskry is fine-tuning their form, but their singer Petr is absolutely desperate and would like to cancel the performance. Plus, they're missing a keyboard player. But the mayor and his ensemble start to arrive at the ball, and this forces Petr into action. Can he finally get the monstrously obese keyboardist Pája out of the house? The mayor is beset by personal problems. His relationship with Bára is not looking rosy and his daughter doesn't even want to see him after the autocross invoice scam. The only thing that makes him happy is the chance to play at the fireman's ball. With a keyboard around his neck and a Michal David costume... Nina's afraid she's pregnant. It's clear that there's more to Lenka and Peter than friendship... Will Mirek and Monca manage to keep their affair a secret from Monca's husband, trucker Dan, who never goes far for a hit? The firemen's ball is about to begin...
