The historian recreates festive traditions from the reign of Henry VIII. With the aid of food historian Annie Gray, she prepares two royal feasts, including a stuffed boar's head served by a choir, and the ancestors of the modern mince pies and Christmas cake. Lucy also gets a taste of the rabble-rousing anarchy of the Lord of Misrule, listens to carol singers performing a song written by Henry VIII himself, and watches a special royal performance involving dancing stags.
