A farm worker is found dead, asphyxiated in a barn fire. After a radical conversion, this "girl of the city" worked for "La ferme de Louise", a small organic and militant farm run by a family disunited since the suicide of the father, a year earlier. In the middle of fields and orchards, Mongeville and Valentine put on their boots for an investigation in the heart of the Gironde terroir, in a peasant world under tension.
