Consecrated by the Archbishop of Bourges in 1866, it's a tiny masterpiece in the neo-gothic style, filled with intricate details, and surprising secrets... Join Mummy for a private tour of our organic walled garden! This is the place where we harvest all of the fruit, vegetables and cut flowers for the chateau. When we bought the chateau there was just the beautiful ancient wall and dilapidated greenhouse, and my mother and our volunteers are slowly transforming it back into a jewel of a kitchen garden, that I rely on heavily for wonderful produce to cook for my guests in the summers. Join me for a private tour of the untouched outbuildings in the Chateau de Lalande's Stable Courtyard! This is very much a 'before' tour of buildings that are going to need a lot of love and attention before they blossom into beautiful new areas for the chateau. The only one that we've worked on so far is the bread oven room, where we've already restored our huge 19th century bread oven - it has a diameter of nearly 3 metres, and is regularly used to make delicious meals! Please excuse the mess in the rest of the buildings - they have a long way to go, but I can imagine them transformed into beautiful entertaining spaces and apartments in future!
