ONE life

It's nearly 30 years since Pink Floyd recorded their number one hit The Wall. This is the story of the 13 comprehensive school kids who bunked off classes for the afternoon and recorded the anthem. ONE life catches up with them at a school reunion and discovers what happened to their lives. Did they need an education and did they get one? How did their school days shape their lives?

The men of the RAF's 27 Squadron are in Afghanistan for a tour of duty. For two months, they will be flying missions around the notorious frontline of Helmand Province, where British troops are engaged daily in ferocious battles with a resurgent Taliban. In this intimate film featuring cockpit footage, we follow the pilots and crewmen for the duration of their tour, as they deliver troops, food and ammunition, and rescue injured British troops while under enemy fire.

Last year 25-year-old Asta Philpot, who was born with arthrogryposis, leaving him unable to move most of his body, lost his virginity in a Spanish brothel - a life-changing experience he wants other disabled people to experience. Now he's planning a return trip to the brothel but wants to take a group of disabled virgins with him. ONE life follows the men on their journey of discovery.

Documentary which looks at a possible cure for people in long-term comas, such as Britons Joanne Douglas and Amy Pickard. Patients in South Africa were reported as waking 'as if a switch has been flicked' after the administration of a sleeping pill. Desperate to know more, both Amy and Joanne's families journey to South Africa to meet the patients who are being treated, wanting to know if this is just another false hope or if their daughters could really be reborn.

Documentary which looks at Ian Yeowart and Sean English's desire to do something no-one has done for a hundred years in the UK - start a new railway company from scratch. Over the course of a year, their enthusiasm for Grand Central turns to exasperation as the work takes longer and longer, and they eventually realise they have no trains either. The film provides a metaphor for the state of a once-great industry and a portrait of a dedicated group of people who just want some trains to play on.
