Neven's Greenway Food Trails

The Great Western Greenway is a 42km cycling and walking trail which follows the route of the old Westport to Achill Railway line, passing through spectacular scenery with views of Clew Bay, the Nephin Mountains and Croagh Patrick.

Neven Maguire visits the Connemara Greenway in Co Galway, beginning by calling in at the Connemara Hamper delicatessen and food store in Clifden to buy a picnic for his journey. On the route, Neven stops at Ballynahinch Castle Hotel to explore the organic walled gardens and the Ballynahinch River that flows through the estate, attracting fly-fishing enthusiasts from all over the world

Neven Maguire travels along the Limerick Greenway, a 39km off-road cycling and walking trail following the route of the Limerick to Tralee Railway, which closed in the 1970s. Neven starts his journey in Abbeyfeale, where he visits Nick Cotter at Cotter Organic Lamb and takes a tour of the farm, which includes 70 acres of green land and also native woodland

Neven Maguire explores the route of the proposed South Kerry Greenway, a cycling and walking track that will run from Caherciveen to Glenbeigh on the spectacular Ring of Kerry. In Caherciveen, the chef calls in at mobile coffee house the Fox in the Box, where he meets owner Marguerite Ahern and enjoys a flat white coffee and a brookie - a cross between a brownie and a cookie

Neven Maguire explores the Royal Canal Greenway, a 130km cycling and walking trail passing through counties Kildare, Meath, Westmeath and Longford. At Multyfarnham near Mullingar Neven meets chef and cookery instructor Kamalika Ranasingha, then he takes a boat trip and is joined by Derek Whelan of the Royal Canal Amenities Group

Neven cycles the Waterford Greenway, starting his journey in Dungarvan at the western end of the 46km walking and cycling track, and heading to Waterford City
