The story is a loose adaptation of the Birth Arc and especially the second one-shot, "Dai Explodes!!!", but it is not directly related to the series and is instead a parallel work not connected to the main one. Additionally, the physical appearance of Hadlar in this film is different from the original comic and later TV adaptations, looking like red evil deity with six arms.
