Sarah Ryan strives to keep daughter Maura away the criminal activities of her brothers. When Maura meets Terry Patterson at a dance, she soon falls for him, but she is torn between her new love and family loyalties when she discovers that he is a policeman.

Maura dare not tell her family about her relationship with a policeman. When she discovers that Terry is being transferred to Soho Central, she realises that he is bound to discover her relationship to the notorious Ryan brothers.

When Benny Ryan is kidnapped by a rival gang, Maura wants to negotiate, but Michael has more direct action in mind.
