“Talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not.” We had a FIRST Robotics group from Oakland visit CrunchLabs for the day which equated to me having my mind blown by a bunch of future engineering legends. We talked in part about how they don’t typically have access to the types of opportunities a lot of schools around here get. On that note, Google.org is providing a total of $10 million in grants to FIRST Robotics and REC Foundation to help 300,000 U.S. middle schoolers participate in robotics programs with a focus on communities and students who traditionally haven’t had access to things like robotic programs (and to be clear this post is not sponsored… it’s just a cool initiative that deserves an extra thumb on the scale).
