4WD - Take a Deep Breath

Andrew with friend John Rich explore the southern coast of Mozambique, go diving with marine conservationists, look for Elephants, watch a fish eagle feed, play with a new tent, go fishing in 'The Gap' and make dinner.

Andrew tries a lone expedition to cross the Central Kalahari Game Reserve - on his own. Not even a camera crew was permitted to go along. The trip failed. You'll have to watch to find out why.

When you don't succeed... try again. Andrew has another attempt at the same route in the same way, (see episode 2) one year later and succeeds. Compelling viewing.

From the top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, Andrew reviews the route ahead and heads off through the dune-lands of the West Coast, rides a land yacht on the beach, flies a glider over the dunes and drives them in a very hot Land Rover Defender.

The Richtersveld is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Andrew's expedition heads off with friend and long time travel companion Steve Searle and guide, Greg van der Reis. Part-1.

The Richtersveld Part-2. From the Orange river climbing tortuous tracks to the 'Whale', and 'The Place of the Skulls. The tracks gets more and more difficult until Andrew announces he has found the Fortuner's limit.

Namibia part-1. In a Mitsubishi Pajero (Shogun), Andrew explores, with his family, the southern portion of Namibia, from the Orange River to wild horses of Aus, ghost town of Kolmanskop, and a spectacular and unforgettable hot-air balloon ride over the Namib. Stunningly beautiful.

This is the episode that people are still talking about... Andrew and his family test the Pajero into the sand seas of the Namib, a six-day expedition. The Pajero's performance disappointed Andrew and this what the fuss was all about - especially when it was crowned, 'The Tupperware Princess'.

The Waterberg is much prized game area in the northern Province of South Africa. Andrew gets involved with Leopard conservation while at the same time drives a 4x4 on a race track to get some advanced driving guidance.

The Waterberg part-2. More Leopard conservation as one is caught and tagged. Pulling trailers in slippery ground is explored before Andrew with Land Cruiser 200 and Explorer off-road caravan head for the Kruger National Park.

Time for some off-road fun as Andrew gets beaten up in the Hilux rally car, rides a race track in a Ferrari and then, to close the series, drives from 200 to 300 kph in under six seconds, in the world's fastest 4x4 - a 1500hp Lamborghini Gallardo.
