Presenter Richard Hammond finds out what wind actually is and captures some while visiting the place with 'the worst weather in the world'; shows how to predict the weather by watching which way the clouds are moving; finds out how rain can crush a car - but not a sandcastle; and lights a giant hotplate in a UK quarry to create his very own thermal. Students will see Richard create his own rain, stand in the middle of a tornado and witness a thunderstorm indoors - amongst other thought-provoking, entertaining - and unexpected - experiments. By getting in amongst real weather, or by creating his own, Richard attempts to show just what makes weather tick.
