The Martin Short Show

A TV star (Martin Short) has a wife (Jan Hooks) and three children.

Marty is excited that his friend Steve Martin will be a guest star on his variety show until the superstar hits on his wife Meg.

Martin tries to please his son by appearing on a children's show hosted by a purple hippopotamus—who turns out to be a comic who believes his career was sabotaged years before when Martin gonged him on ""The Gong Show"".
