The Hoarder Next Door

In Liverpool, the only place 55-year-old Nigel Jennings can sit at home is his mattress - and even that isn't completely safe. Nigel hasn't been inside some of the rooms in his home for over seven years. He is one of the most extreme hoarders psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses has ever seen. Will six weeks be enough for Stelios and his team of expert de-clutterers to help Nigel deal with his painful past and eventually start to let go of some of his belongings?

Psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses has six weeks to help both Tricia and Paul to sort the clutter that's filling their homes and their minds. Once an actress in Coronation Street, Tricia is now too embarrassed to have friends round as her hoard of bric-a-brac and junk has buried her dining room table and become host to an infestation of rats. Stelios Kiosses hopes to prove that his special mix of therapies can help Tricia. Stelios also meets Paul, a jazz enthusiast whose collection has got so out of hand that his girlfriend no longer has room to stay.

In Somerset, Helen and her 18-year-old son Jack are living in eight years' worth of hoarded clutter, making it impossible to even use the kitchen. In Blackburn, mum Yvonne is hoarding all the toys, videos and clothes from her children's childhood, making it hard for her youngest daughter to play. Psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses is convinced that you can't just empty a hoarder's home without dealing with the psychological reasons, so he puts Helen, Jack and Yvonne on his six-week treatment plan before sending in a team of professional de-clutterers.

An aspiring artist with no room to work, 44-year-old Tina Vaughan is a compulsive hoarder of all things 1960s. An avid collector since she was a child, Tina lives in a cramped flat with two cats for company. Psychotherapist Stelios Kiosses pairs Tina with one of the most extreme hoarders he has ever met - 71-year-old Joanne Gill - in a bid to change her hoarding habit.
